THE INDIE SUMMIT
IS BACK!

Due to the ongoing geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East, we decided not to hold the 2023 Indie Summit in Dubai in April, as originally planned.

Instead, we will hold a streamlined version of the Summit in London, on October 1st.

We know these are challenging times for agencies in many countries, so we will adopt a new format, with a significantly reduced cost to attend the core Summit Day on Wednesday 1st October 2025. There will be options to attend additional activities on Tuesday 30thSeptember and Thursday 2nd October see below.

Business as usual? Not Exactly

Until now, we have held all our London Summits at the Royal College of Physicians, This year, thanks to our President Julian Boulding’s “pro bono” role as Master of the Marketors’ Livery Company in London, we are able to provide a dramatic new location.

Livery Companies are like trade associations. Many date back hundreds of years, and own historic “Livery Halls,” often not open to the general public.

One of these is the Plaisterers’ Hall. The Plaisterers’ livery company has maintained the standards of their trade since the 14th century. They have a magnificent hall, one of the finest in London – not surprisingly, it has a magnificent plaster ceiling. We will have the use of the Hall for our Summit, all day on. Wednesday October 1st. It will be a memorable venue!

why should you come?

Three reasons:

Connect – with independent agency leaders facing similar challenges and opportunities as you. Agency leaders who meet at our Summits often end up working together on international assignments, or collaborating in “Special Interest” and Thought Leadership Groups.

Learn – get up to speed with the latest trends and developments in our industry – and the skills you need today, to stay competitive. Pricing, scoping, winning new business, increasing profitability and performance, attracting and retaining talent, improving and measuring performance. And above all: how to use the new developments and resources available through AI, to gain competitive advantage for your business.

Trade – with other agencies of course, but also other stakeholders in the communications ecosystem: who provide practical consultancy, coaching, training, and resources – especially designed for independent agencies; as well as our guests from the Marketors’ Company.

This is how the 2025 Indie Summit will work:

Tuesday 30th September: optional pre-Summit activities

During the day: an extended workshop with Marsha Lindsay

Marsha has been a regular speaker at our previous Indie Summits. She has always been voted in the top 3 in our post-event analysis. She ran her own agency, Lindsay Stone & Briggs, for many years. Today, she provides C-Suite management consulting services for Fortune 500 companies and leading US agencies.

For the first time at an Indie Summit, she will host a complete workshop, specifically tailored for independent agencies, on “How to Gain Competitive Advantage.”

In the evening: getting to know each other!

As at previous London Summits, we will begin our official program with a Welcome Cocktail reception, hosted once again by our friends and collaborators, Moore Kingston Smith. MKS London is one of the leading financial advisory and accountancy firms, and is specialised in the marketing and communications sector. The reception will be free of charge to all delegates attending the main conference day on 1st October.

Curated Dinners

Following the reception, we will once again host our legendary “Curated Dinners”. We divide participants into groups of around 10 or 12, each one hosted by a member of our organising team. Each group will be booked into a fashionable restaurant in central London (or potentially, a magical room in one of our Livery Halls). We will seat you with a group of people you don’t know, but we think you will like to know! And by the end of the evening, you will.

Wednesday 1st October: The Indie Summit 2025

During the day: 15 and 30 minute sessions with world class speakers and facilitators

A full day from 9am to 4.30pm (with lunch and refreshment breaks included, with world class speakers and panellists from around the world: looking at the key issues impacting independent agencies and related businesses in the Creative Industries. These won’t include another “what is Chat GPT session.” They will include revealing insights into how some of the world’s leading practitioners and business owners are using the latest thinking and cutting edge technology to improve their own business performance and provide services that clients want and need – short term and long term. Agenda will be announced shortly.

In the evening: an unforgettable dinner in a spectacular venue

We will once again use our livery connections to obtain another “money can’t buy” experience in an amazing and historic venue in the City of London, with a guest speaker you will not want to miss. Cost: GBP £175.00 + VAT.

Thursday 2nd October: Conversations of special interest to you

During the morning:

We’re curating a series of focused sessions designed to encourage expert-led discussions among smaller groups, for example: media planning and buying, or healthcare marketing. These will take place during the morning.

London has a huge number of accommodation options – we are happy to tell you some options, or pick your own from Booking.com or AirBnB.

A general tip: despite London’s reputation as an expensive city, hotels can be quite good value prices, especially if you book early. If you leave it until the last minute – you will pay top dollar.

The cost to attend the core program (welcome cocktail on Tuesday and Conference on Wednesday) starts at £450 + VAT with special discounted rates for members of thenetworkone and the Marketors company.

Additional costs for optional elements are:

Marsha Lindsay workshop, Tuesday 30th September - £95 + VAT
Curated dinners, Tuesday 30th September - £125 + VAT
Celebration Dinner: Wednesday 1st October – £175 + VAT
Conversations and simple lunch – £60 + VAT

The Indie Summit has never been a “pay-to-play event”, but we do encourage carefully chosen service providers with something new and different to say to independent agencies, to join our Summit. We have a very limited number of speaker slots available and also some packages which include meeting opportunities rather than appearances on the main stage.

Below are some examples of companies who have joined us more than once – so presumably, they found good value in it. Costs range from £500 to £2500. Please contact [email protected] or [email protected] if you are interested in being considered.
